Christopher Smith, Ph.D.

"Dr. Chris" as he is known to his clients is a Texas licensed clinical psychologist specializing in therapy and skills training for adolescents and adults with autism spectrum conditions and other developmental disabilities. A graduate of the University of South Dakota's clinical psychology training program, he has been working with adolescents and young adults since 1998. He is an adamant proponent of a positive model in working with clients and has helped hundreds of individuals discover and use their personality advantages. He utilizes cognitive and behavioral interventions in practice, including extensive skill building strategies.

In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Chris is the Director of Psychological Services for College Living Experience-Austin, the leading provider of post-secondary services for young adults in transition. In that role he directs and supervises masters level therapists and students in teaching social, vocational, and living skills.

Amanda Skonetski, M.A.

Amanda Skonetski, M.A.

Amanda works as a social skills instructor and interpersonal/life skills coach at Autism advantage and is a Texas licensed professional counselor intern with a master’s degree in counseling from St. Edward’s University. Although she functions as a coach at Autism Advantage, Amanda's understanding of positive neurological differences as well as anxiety, social skills challenges and emotion regulation challenges in persons with Autism and Asperger’s make her an ideal coach for those seeking to: control their anxiety, minimize/overcome their social skills challenges and manage sensory needs that impair their daily activities, ability to work and ability to successfully pursue educational/vocational/relational goals. In conjunction with learning how to overcome or minimize challenges, Amanda’s work always includes learning how to maximize the benefits of one’s personality and neurological differences.

In addition to the work Amanda does at Autism advantage, she also works as a lead social skill instructor and therapist for Spectrum Services, in Austin, Tx. At Spectrum Services, Amanda specializes in providing collaborative solutions for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other social communication challenges.

Sara Gaulke, SSP.

Sara Gaulke, SSP.

As a practicing Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP), Sara assesses, consults and collaborates with students, teachers, and parents in an Austin area school district. She specializes in working with students and adults that seek acceptance in their diagnosis and use positive strategies to empower their lives and create change. Sara received her LSSP graduate degree from Texas State University and is currently in pursuit of her Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) license. She has worked in Wisconsin and Texas using cognitive-behavioral, applied behavioral analysis, and cognitive and achievement assessment techniques to paint true pictures of each individual she has the pleasure of working with. Her individual focus promotes specialized services that work for each client in their lifestyle, interests, and environment. Sara uses her knowledge and experience in Autism diagnosis, behavioral analysis and intervention, and solution-focused consultation to support Autism Advantage in it's mission to provide superior coaching, assessment, and therapy services.
